My Family in California: Dave and Jacob

Jacob

Jacob is my brother David's little boy. Jacob was born on March 1, 2007, so he is just getting his walking down. I must say that my little brother is a good dad. He loves Jacob so much and is so kind and loving towards him... taking care of his every need.

Getting Use To His Aunt Danna and Her Camera
I am getting a hug in and trying to get Jacob to look at the camera for his picture with me. I got a little sun yesterday at Disneyland... It is a warm day.

My Family in California: Brittany's Prom

Brittany (left) and Friend
My sister, Krista, died from a car accident in 1992. Brittany is her daughter, and my niece. She was 18 months old when Krista died. At the end of this month, Brittany graduates from high school. Their class went to their prom last Saturday night at the Long Beach Hyatt. Here are some of the pictures of her classmates and their dates. As you can imagine, it was hard to fit them all into a picture and avoid the sun behind the bus they left on among so many moms and dads taking pictures.

A Moment Before Leaving On the Bus

This was about all I saw of Brittany on this trip but that is OK. There will be other times. I am just glad that I was able to be a small part of her graduation. I gave her a card with a necklace and bracelet which I hope she might wear on her graduation day. She had a great time and slept most of Sunday since she got home about 4 am. Ahhhhh, to be young.

Riley's Trip to Disneyland

A Dream Come True

Here are some of the photos of Riley's time at Disneyland. We were able to get to Disneyland around 10 am. The very first thing that he wanted to do was... yes, you guessed it, see Mickey Mouse. On Main Street there is a City Hall and if a person goes there they can ask questions as to what is happening in the park. We were looking for Mickey Mouse. The tour guide told us that he was in his mouse house in Toon Town (which is in the back of the park) so off we went to Toon Town to find his house. We went through his house and found ourselves in his barn waiting to see him.

In line there are MM cartoons playing while a few at time go in to see the Big Cheese. Riley could hardly wait. For some reason, I don't have the pictures right off my camera but luckily they gave me a card that I can go get the picture for free. I will have to do that but for now, here are some pictures of our grandma and Riley Disneyland day:

He isn't picking his nose, he is posing like Goofy in the little statue behind him. :-)

I will get the photo off the website and post it tomorrow and post more about Disneyland. Also, I will tell you more about my trip too including meeting Susan. I have a few days worth of stories for the blog...

Have a Good Day!

Back to Work

It was back to work for me and answering a hundred emails. We also had a long meeting going over what we have to do in May. Oh brother, this will be something of a challenge. May is known for middle schools bringing their students to campus for a visit.

I have taken the pictures off the camera and I will start to post them tomorrow. Have a good evening. HUGS

I am Home

That was challenging! Two hours delayed to begin with... then two hours on board waiting for them to fix the flaps... then two hours and 1/2 home. A total of 6.5 hours entertaining Riley, except for the hour he slept for a nap. I am exhausted. If I wasn't before, I am now. I just thought I would let you know before you wondered if I was still sitting at Long Beach airport. Have a good night and tomorrow!

Update: still sitting in LB

Hey guys. This flight was delayed 2 hours and now it is delayed longer while they fix the flap. I would rather be safe now than discover a problem in the air. Some people are upset. Some are nervous. I know that they will do what they need to do. I am glad they are doing their jobs. Pray I get home soon :)

Time To Go Home

I would say that I have done everything I wanted to do this trip with Riley. Mom and Ron hadn't seen Riley since he was 1 year old. Eva saw him when he turned 3 yrs old on his birthday. She was visiting WA at the time. I saw both of my brothers this trip and Brittany (my sister's daughter). Brit was dressed for her prom and I was able to get a few pictures. I wish I could be there for her graduation from high school at the end of the month. She was just a little girl when my sister died and I know she doesn't remember her.
Plus I was able to meet and visit for a little while Susan. Maybe sometime in the future I will meet Darylynn or Judy. Anyone coming to Seattle? Give me a shout.

Right now Riley and I are delayed getting back to Seattle two hours. Riley is watching a DVD player that I brought. I have it plugged in the wall in the terminal so that battery will be good on the flight back.

I worked in this airport in high school. I had a vocational class called Aviation Occupations at Millikan High School. Right after high school we moved to Costa Mesa. Later in life I lived in Ontario Calif.

Well I better sign off now. I guess I have time to visit blogs today while I wait. Hugs

Meeting Susan

I posted a post yesterday regarding meeting Susan. It may still post but if it doesn't I will put this one up.

Susan and I met at lunch at the Baja Fresh on Harbor in Costa Mesa. Meeting someone that you know online yet not in person is surreal. But as soon as I saw her I felt that we had known each other for years (which in a way we have). We have so many things in common in life. I have really needed women friends. I am new to the church so other than the reps at work, I don't have girlfriends. Susan and I filled in all the "gaps" that we wondered about and don't really know coming into someones blog such as how she got started and who she has met. She has met so many of our blogger friends. I look forward to doing the same thing after meeting Susan. She also met Riley and brought him a coloring book and crayons which kept him busy while we visited. Thanks Susan!

I will will post more about my trip later. I am about to board the plane. Hugs

Happy Birthday Ron!

My stepdad had a birthday today. We went to Laguna to show Riley the beach and to build sand castles. I was concerned for him getting too much sun so we left after an hour for an early dinner. On the way home we stopped at the Cheesecake Factory for a birthday dessert. They sang to him too. Riley and I shared a chocolate cake slice and brought home half of it. My brother Jon ate the rest of it. I hadn't seen Jon for a long time. We watched Spiderman Three together tonight. Tomorrow we meet Susan. Hugs
