Our House

Our House

I finally figured out how to do get the picture off the Google Map. Julie had done this back in March. As you can see this is a typical home. We don't have the big trees around because when they put in homes, they have to take most of the trees. It disturbs their root systems and they can fall in a wind. In fact, this was taken right after a big wind. I know because the brown thing laying in the backyard is our fence (which had been standing) in the picture. Dave had to replace it. My car is the gold one at the top. Aaron had an accident in the red car and totalled it. He was on the freeway and hit some ice. Luckily only the car was hurt. Aaron was shook up, of course. I don't know where Dave's truck is unless he was driving it that day. We also have a covered deck in the backyard with a hot tub.

Dave came home last night from North Carolina. He will have to deal with jet lag so I didn't have the boys stay over last night (Friday) night. We will have them over today and maybe tonight too. The weather is suppose to be really cold today. It was beginning to get really cold yesterday, so unfortunately the weather man was correct about a cold front coming down from Canada. Dave just came from nice weather... Welcome Home Dave.

Two weeks from now I will be in So. California with my family. I don't have a stiff agenda like I had when Aaron and Dave went down there with me last year. I was a tour guide then. I have Riley with me this time. The only wish he has is to see Mickey Mouse. I know where that mouse lives... it's doable.

I have a Pow Wow t0night to attend for a couple of hours as a representative of the college at the college. We are right near the Muckleshoot Tribe but I am not sure which tribe this will there. If you have never been to a Pow Wow before, they are very fun to attend. It is a part of the Northwest culture and I went to my first one the first year that I was here. That is a story in itself: Kari and I were out exploring and we came across an old graveyard. As we were standing over the old graves we heard chanting from a far. It was rather ghostly. We looked up from the grave looking at each other as if to say "What is that?" I realized that it was coming from somewhere so we followed the chants in the car. About a mile or so away from where we had been, there was a Pow Wow going on. I will try to take pictures.

Have a great weekend!

That is cool how you got a picture of your house. I need to try that. May will be here soon and I look forward to meeting you. So you will be brining your grandson? I guess you mean D.Land. That will be fun. Happy Sunday.

Clever you...you did it! It's so amazing isn't it, to find your house like that and be able to see things in your yard and explore your neighborhood... I even found a laneway in our street I didn't realise was there, so you discover all sorts of things this way.

So you and Susan are going to meet..how wonderful! She's a sweet lady, I'm sure you'll have a great time.

I'm pleased Dave made it back home safely. Hope you're enjoying your weekend. xx

Hi Danna,

I made you linkie, so if you want to check it out, it is on "My Reads" page. I read that you like to garden, so kinda took that as a 'theme'. If you would rather have something else 'represent' you, please let me know.

I know where Mickey Mouse lives too, & go there every chance I get! I 'love' Disneyland. So neat that your grandson is going with you.

I have looked at our home from a satelite too..unreal what you can do nowadays!

Have a blessed week! Hugs!
