Desk Time

Yesterday I did go to work even though I wanted so badly to stay home. Still not over my cold, I haven't slept well yet. Aaron started his job on Tuesday and he came home after 10pm. I know I was still awake when he came into the house.

I didn't have Riley over Tuesday night because he was missing his mom and brother. I tell him that it is good of him to come over and take care of me while PaPa is away. I know that he loves being with me and he loves being with his mom and brother. I tell him I have to share him. That makes him feel good that he is wanted everywhere he goes. He tells me that he misses me too but he is fine where ever he happens to be.

I went to work and worked at my desk, trying to get the event that I am coordinating for April 25th. So far there are 43 people coming to a breakfast that we are putting on. It is basically like putting on a party, a class room, and a breakfast all at the same time. It is nerve racking but it is very fun to do. I have the room, the breakfast ordered, the people presenting information, gifts, linens, security alerted, and the agenda created. I have still quite a bit to do but I am on target.

I came home and ate some left overs and watched a video before I had to take it back to the video rental store. I had rented "The Water Horse". The kids had seen it but I had not. So, after dinner I got my cup of tea and watched the movie. I can see why it didn't hold the boys attention as I had hoped. I would say that it would be more for kids a little older than the boys.
The story takes place during the World War and so that would have been lost on a 3 or 4 year old.

Today I am scheduled to go to Seattle again but this time to the Federal Building. I am never too thrilled about going up in tall buildings because of 9/11. It is always in my thoughts and I am always aware that there could be an attack at any time, any where. I also realize that there is a slim chance that something would happen when I am there. Once I am up there though, I will enjoy the view and I will probably have some more pictures to share with you. Last year, just before I got on the elevator, the alarms went off and the elevator shut off. We were told that it was just a practice fire alarm over the intercom. I must say that when the alarms went off it didn't help our fears any. We had a panic feeling and I don't really like the idea of being there again. However, we try to live life without fear and go on.

Tomorrow I am the hostess to a meeting at one of our satelite campus'. I am hoping to get some more time off so that I can get some things done at home. We will see.

Dave will be home late Friday night. At this time he would be willing to get on a plane and come home this very minute. I think he has had enough of NC as nice as it is to visit. Unfortunately, the weather "person" is telling us that we might see snow showers this weekend and he will probably wish he was in warmer weather again.

What strange weather! Last week on Saturday we were almost at 80 degrees and this Saturday we may have snow. What is THAT about? Where is spring? I will have to get on a plane and head to California to get any weather that resembles spring.

Have a good day everyone. The end of the week in near.

Hi Danna! Sounds like you have a very full plate! I'm not a fan of Federal Bldgs either. We have one in Westwood near where Jeff works and it's always the target of protests. The FBI is located there, too. We're having rollercoaster weather here in SoCal, too. 30 degree fluctuations! (((Hugz)))
