No - Not That Kind of Wand!

THIS Kind of Wand!

Did I mention going to the Federal Building yesterday didn't thrill me at all? I was there last year but I had forgot many things about going to that event. Here are some of the things we usually encounter at events in Seattle:
- It isn't easy to park... it is always in a garage under a big building.
- We have to roll our "stuff" sometimes for a block or two on the street sidewalk.
- We easily get lost because we don't know where we are really going.
- We can't find a restroom.
- It isn't easy to drive there on the freeway (Don't even get me started about how many lanes there are for a place this size.)
But for added excitement (not), at the Federal Building one gets to go through a security check. All bags, materials, purses, etc go through a xray machine and we go through the "gate". It seems every time I go through one of those, I get "wanded" too. So, me and my Disneyland bag was thoroughly checked.
They do have a nice cafeteria. I brought my lunch with me (in my Disneyland bag) but I did buy a lemonade there. Susie got something from the Deli... I forgot to ask her if it was good or what she thought of it.
I went back to work to see if I had any emails and other things to deal with from the work I did yesterday. But it was very quite. So I finished up and went to Staples. There I hoped to find all the elements of a binder that I want to put together for this event.
The binder is a way to network that I saw them do at the Chamber of Commerce. Everyone that is a part of the event leaves in a pocket on a plastic sleeve about ten of their business cards. I thought the sleeve that holds actual business cards was too small to put in ten, so I bought a sleeve that holds trade cards (like baseball cards). The pocket would hold many business cards. The business cards are kept in the binder alphabetically by the name of their company. So if anyone wants a name to a certain agency or company, they pull out one of the cards to take with them. I am encouraging everyone to bring a stack of their business cards. Mission accomplished. All I have to do is put it together.
I don't have the kids again tonight. I am beginning to miss them. Even though I have be dealing with a cold, I still wish they were around. I tell myself to rest and take care so that I am ready for their next visit.

Hi Danna! I hope you are feeling well now. I think I just needed good sleep, instead of keeping on with my nightowl ways.
Hope your meetings go well. I wouldn't like to be in a highrise either. So much has changed since 9/11. I don't like heights either, so I would not like it regardless.
Enjoy your weekend, & I do hope you don't get that snow! Oh...by the way, do you have a linkie that I could add to my 'reads' section? If not, would you mind if I made one for you & used it on that page? Sending you big hugs!
