Happy Birthday Dave!!!

Happy Birthday Dave!

It is my husband Dave's birthday today. We have been getting lots of invitations for dinner and BBQs this week since our birthdays are one week a part. Dave bought me some presents already and I am trying hard to get him a gift that is more significant than something like a cargo net for his truck. We are at the age now that we don't want to collect anything that isn't useful etc. We are trying to downsize our stuff and our bodies. So, it isn't easy to find the right gift. I bought him an Alan Jackson CD, only to find out he has it. Now I can't find it because I hid it so well. I am going to have to go out at lunch or after work to get more gifts. I hate the last minute... but it will be ok.

Last night we took some time out to go to the KEG for dinner. We weren't celebrating our birthdays, we were celebrating our accomplishments and spending time as a couple. We have really been busy going different directions sometimes too. He has been working so much on the open rental house and renting it out... I have been busy with fairs and family issues. So we raised our glasses (ice tea (me) and beer (him)) and toasted to being thankful for answers to prayer and getting work done. We were glad to regroup as a couple. I started out by saying to him and putting my hand out to shake "Hello, I am Danna... Your wife. We haven't seen each other lately" making a joke out of how much time we have put towards other pressing matters.

I will have THE answer to "what are you going to do this weekend?" question that one usually hears on any Friday. It is THE Friday before taking a week off. Yes, this is it! An entire week, plus one day, off. Of course, it will involve Riley having his tonsils out :-( BUT we will get that behind us quickly. I will not only be caring for Riley, I will be a stay at home person all week long. I am planning on many home projects while Riley is recovering.

Also, this weekend we will have a birthday party for Riley on Sunday PM! We have been preparing for the party this week so that we don't have much to do when we have Riley around. It will be a "Transformers" party... chosen by Riley. It will keep Dave and I youthful having a Transformer party too.

Have a great weekend!

Hi Danna! Happy birthday to your hubby too! It's wonderful that you got to spend some couple time & reconnect. Now that Mike & I have become 'parents' all over again, we sometimes find it hard to have that time too. Hope you have a wonderful weekend...btw - did you ever find your hidden cd? :-) Hugs!
