Finally, it was sunny again. And so in good ole Washingtonian ways, we took off for some fun. One can not let a good sunny day go by and not celebrate it in someway because, after all, next week it could be snowing. We headed north with the boys to Mt. Vernon where the Tulip Festival was taking place. There is a lot of tulip farming there so at this time of the year (actually most of the time a little earlier) the tulips are blooming and it is a sight to behold. I have posted some of the pictures so that you can see what I saw. But I must say, it is more outstanding in colors in person.
I will put up more pictures tomorrow... I took a lot. Some with the boys in them too.

Oh my goodness, those tulips are amazing. They are just a sea of colour! I have half Dutch (my Dad's was Dutch) so tulips are a great love of mine because of that. We have tulip festivals here too but nowhere as big as that. Amazing. Do they sell the tulips, or are they grown for the festival more as a garden show? Thanks for sharing. ;)
sorry...I meant to reread that last post before I sent it. I meant to say "I am half Dutch". My son spoke to me as i was writing sorry.
