Paper or Plastic?

This will be a quick post today. But the big news around Seattle is that we will be doing away with plastic bags on January 1st. It will cost .20 cents to get a bag which seems strange because I have a whole drawer of them in the kitchen. I just got my first reusable bag last week and it looks like I will have a new collection of bags to take to the grocery store. What are they doing in your part of the world towards plastic bags?

I have been in interviews today and tomorrow for the Director of Outreach. It gets a little tiring after three hours. We will have more today.

Riley must have his tonsils out and it is scheduled for August 26. I took the week off. Our birthday is on August 29. I guess it will be a good time for an ice cream birthday cake.

Have a great Tuesday! It is raining in Seattle. Are you surprised? We are.

I wish we would outlaw plastic bags. I have cloth bags for groceries (I wish hubby would remember that) and a cloth bag for the mall. I work at a department store and it kills me to hand out those plastic bags to customers. I've started asking them if they want a bag or not.

Here's what's happening in LA: After July 1, 2010, all store customers must provide their own bags or purchase bags made of paper or other biogradable material from the store for 25 cents. The state is considering the same ban but it wouldn't go into effect until 2010. I have lots of cloth/canvas bags that I use- got them from Whole Foods, Gelsons and Trader Joe's for free (with a minimum purchase.) I'm all for it! PS. I'm tagging you tomorrow with a 6 Random Facts thing so I've got dibs on you! (((Hugz)))

California should've said 2012- can't wrap my brain around these futuristic dates! Yikes!
