The question we are asking is, "Will it come?"
Unlike other mornings, for some reason I didn't check the news for the weather report. So I got the boys and myself ready for the day and step outside to get in the car. There was a little dusting of snow... but nothing to worry about... not until I turned out on a main road well traveled. And then there we were, the boys and I, on ice! I hate ice. I like it in my tea and that is it. The road had frozen from the wet snow. All the cars were going 3 miles per hour, if that! We were crawling along, crawling along. It is the weirdest feeling to be driving on ice. The only way any of my family and friends in California could relate to this scene is to picture driving on a ice rink made of hills. The scary thing is that one can easily lose control and end up in a ditch. For some reason, there seems to be a lot of ditches around here... you notice them when you are in these situations. I don't notice them during the summer and they look smaller too.
I turned the car around after making it up a hill and decided not to go down the same hill (made of ice) but to find another way. So I turned into a neighborhood and drove around until I ended up getting to where I wanted to be without being in peril. I went home... got the boys out... and relaxed. I was able to telecommute for a while and then I decided to try it again after hearing a better report. So, we got in the car and I went another route just to make sure. I got the boys to the daycare and me to work by 11 am. Kari got the boys in the afternoon early when there were threats of snow coming early.
Tonight we are all home but we have been told that during the night it is to snow and in the morning we will really have a lot of snow to deal with in order to get to work. It isn't what we do here... plus we have all these hills... so it makes it not very easy to get around. People from the east side of the state think that we are wimps. I personally don't care what they think. I am a transplant from California... and I have a whole large state of people that would no doubt back me up. Especially those in So Cali :-) (And that is a lot of people.)
I will jump off here and tell you more about what happens tomorrow.
Wish me luck. I may be staying home... which wouldn't be all bad.
Good night...

Hi Danna! When we were all in Seattle, I was surprised how hilly the city was- reminded me of San Francisco so I can imagine it would be scary for the streets to be icy. We awoke to frost on the rooftops and cars this am. Stay safe! (((Hugz)))
