Brady and The School Bus

Brady was to be picked up last Monday to start attending his AM class in Special Ed Preschool. He was put into the program last year, and we are continuing the program this year. However, there was a problem. Is anyone surprised? The transportation department put the stop a block away from the daycare. The daycare can't take children off the property for insurance reasons. And, there isn't a sidewalk to the bus stop.

I was a school bus driver and all the district would do is change the route if there was a problem. Not so with this group. The teacher and the psychologist put in a request and it was denied. I called transportation myself and they put me on hold for days telling me that they were waiting for a call from the school district. So, I wrote an email to the advocate that put Brady in the program to begin with for her assistance and she told her boss.

I didn't hear from anyone and at 2pm yesterday I asked Kari to go to the school district after her shift on Thursday. She went there and she was told that they had heard from me. The transportation liaison was going to once again going to tell Kari to go to the psychologist again (yes, for the third time) but Kari held her ground and said that we had already done that and transportation had denied our request. A woman listening to all of this directed Kari to another woman who listened to Kari as she told the story. This is very difficult for Kari, emotionally, but she told the woman her thoughts. The woman told Kari that she would help her and that it would be resolved. In the end, Kari got a phone call letting her know that starting Monday Brady would be picked up at the daycare. I will be reporting how that goes on Tuesday.

I have been not feeling well the last few days. I started to have a fever on Wednesday and Wednesday night. I was going back and forth with freezing and then roasting. So, I had a sick day on yesterday and slept. I've had a sinus headache, I ache, and I am coughing a little. So it has something to do with my upper respiratory system. I don't know if I caught a bug when I was going to the ER with Riley.

I also went to the doctor to renew my medicine on Tuesday. I have just had a birthday and that is also a reminder for me to do what I need to do medically to keep healthy at 53. Then, of course, I get this stuff. I do get paid for sick days and leave.

Hi Danna, I hope you feel better real soon. Also hope all is worked out for Brady - it's so silly at times to try to get things done - seems like everyone pushes it to the next person. Anyway, I am glad you got things worked out. Have a great weekend! Hugs

Hi Danna,
I have been catching up with the past couple of days posts --

I am SO glad that the police found that little girl's Mom. That has gotten to be the scariest thing in the world. I remember hearing stories from my Mom about things that my sisters & I did to scare her.

I hope you start feeling better. So far (fingers & toes crosses) Michael & I have been sick-free. I managed last year to go all winter long without getting anything worse than a couple days of the sniffles.

I hope all goes well with Brady and that things are finally worked out. Getting stuff done sometimes is like pulling teeth!

Have a wonderful weekend hon. Huggles
