Aaron's BBQ in Cold Weather

Aaron's Costco Grad Cake

Not much is happening this week until I leave on Thursday to go down to Sacramento for the wedding. I have a couple of Education Fairs in on First Hill and Cherry Hill in Seattle this week. Other than that it is going to be preparing for the trip. I say goodbye to Susie on Thursday morning too. So I am trying to prepare for that as well. So in the meantime, I thought I would share photos from the BBQ that we had last Saturday for Aaron with the family. Above is the cake that Dave got Aaron from Costco. We still have cake in the refrigerator if anyone wants some :-) Below is Dave BBQing the traditional hot dogs and hamburgers. We wanted to have food that reflected what the youth would like to have at their party (since you can't BBQ pizza).

I decided to use the covered hot tub as the banquet table. It wasn't the best weather for a BBQ but being from Seattle, we worked it out. And the condiments stay cool too! Above Aaron, Dee, Sarah, Riley and James all get their hamburger or hot dog. Below Kari and Brady are tough and enjoying the outdoors no matter what the weather.

Riley below is eating his very first hamburger. He has always been a picky eatter but for some reason unknow to us he decided this was the day that he would try a hamburger.

Above is Sarah, Jason, and Riley watching Aaron open gifts.

Below is Steve (Dave's brother), & Deb and Rick (our friends from Canada). Aye?

We had to bring the BBQ inside it got so cold, including the patio chairs and side tables. Here is a good picture of the old furniture that we are going to get rid of and a piece of the new. The recliner that Dee is sitting in on the left is a new piece that is an accent chair that will compliment the loveseat with we get it in the next week. Aaron is opening his gifts and cards here with dad looking on writing down who gave him what for sending out "Thank You" cards later.

So that pretty much says it all for Aaron's graduation. Since then it has even got cooler here. We are having gusts of wind that is 40 mph and there was a threat of snow in the pass last night. This is NOT normal. We are pretty tired of it really... looking on to other places in the country that has normal warmer weather for the time of the year. We are heading south at the end of the week and it is in the 90's in Sacramento. That may be a shock to our system... yet maybe we can bring some sun back like Darylynn suggested she would send us. Have a great day! And send some warm weather too! Thanks!

It's hard to imagine you don't have good bbq'ing weather yet - it's definitely the height of summer here already, I just assume it is for everyone else!!
Glad you all still had a great time. Great photos too.

Congratulations to Aaron on his graduation. That's great you could all gather together to celebrate with him. What a shame the weather wasn't too crash hot, but I can see that you guys made the best of it anyway.

When do yout hink you'll get to see Suzie again? It must be hard to say good-bye to her.

Have a safe and wonderful trip.
Warm hugs.

Hi Danna! The celebration looks great! They are going to ban metallic balloons in California by 2010- I think it is. Guess the balloon makers will need to come up with something else. Costco cakes are good and so big but even if you end up throwing some away, the price is still right. Guess if the warm weather won't come to you, you'll just go to it! (((Hugz)))
