Rain, Rain, Go Away

Pineapple Express
Have you heard of it? It is where the warm moisture from the south (Hawaii) meets cooler air... and there is LOTS of rain. At least it is warmer and not cold rain. And it means that we don't have to scrape ice off the windows of the car in the morning. And, yes, I have had to do that this week too. It is difficult in the fall to have so much rain because it causes flooding. We have tons of leaves that have fallen and have blocked the drains. That creates lakes of water.
Kari called me on her way to the east hill, where we live, to say that she was driving slowly to our house because of all the standing water in the valley. And as I walked out into the dark at the college to get into my car, sheets of rain was falling. There wasn't anyway that I was going to brave getting to my car. I was going to wait it out but instead I walked upstairs in the student services building and got my umbrella out of my desk drawer. I was glad I did because nothing had changed when I got back outside at the doorway of the building.
So, needless to say... we are staying in tonight. As I write this for Friday, I hope that the rain will let up for tomorrow. I am happy though that it will be Friday, so that makes up for any rain that may fall. I am so ready for the weekend. I am sure you are too... Happy weekend!

Hi Danna! We get the Pineapple Express, too. I'm reading the Twilight series of books and it all takes place in an area around Port Angeles. I remember landing there after our ferry crossng. The movie is coming out thi month so I imagine they did the filming up there. Have a great weekend! (((Hugz)))

I'm not sure that I could handle all that wet weather. Rain gives me a headache.

You take care and try to stay dry.
