Bob Mortimer and the 1st BBQ of the Year

Sunday was a good day. Not only was the weather perfect but it was a great all around. The first thing we did was church. We had a guest speaker named Bob Mortimer. He is a great speaker but more than that he has a great testimony. He and his family are starting out from here to go across country over the summer on bikes. You can follow their progression HERE. He was injured and lost his left arm and both legs. 27 years ago he decided that his life wasn't much but he gave it over to God. He married and has three children. He ministers to many people everywhere... and today was the day that he came to minister to us. Their story will be written in a blog as they make their way... and he will be speaking to many in churches and all over. They will be riding into New York around September 11. They don't know what will come of it but they are doing what they feel they are suppose to be doing.

We then went to a BBQ at Steve and Ruth's house for a belated Mother's Day and for both Jason's and Steve's birthday. Steve is Dave's brother and Jason is Steve's son. The weather was perfect and it was very relaxing. We really hadn't been together since Christmas. It was nice to just sit around and talk.

This evening Aaron, Dave, and I sat down and reviewed the summer and what we hope to do etc. Aaron signed up for Japanese again for summer classes at the college I work. So, I felt like today was really the offical begining to summer rather than next week. Now where are my gardening tool? Have a great Monday!

Hi Danna, how are you? Seems like forever since I have been here. I enjoyed reading your post about Bob. He sounds like a great person. I went and scouted out his website about his journey. How amazing. Glad you had a great Sunday. Sounds like it was perfect, a wonderful service and then spending time with family.
Hope you have a fantastic week. Hugs!

Hi Danna! Caught up on your past posts. Glad they got to the bottom of your mom's problem. Nice that you'rehaving beautiful weather. It's been a bit too hot here (even for me- the sun bum) but is cooling off this week. Yes, it does seem like summer and I did more gardening ysterday. Enjoy the week ahead! (((Hugz)))
