Yesterday, I went to Seattle for an event for the employees of the City of Seattle. I took a these pictures below while I was there to share on today's post and also to add some other to next Sunday Snapshots.
PIONEER SQUARE PARK & PERGOLA
Pioneer Square boasts the country’s largest concentration of Victorian-Romanesque architecture. At Pioneer Square Park, Seattle’s first permanent settlement, historic elements include the totem pole from the Tlingit American Indian village (1890), the Pioneer Building, constructed just after the Great Fire of 1889, and the Pergola (1905), designed to shelter passengers waiting for the cablecar that used to travel along Yesler Way.
SMITH TOWER
Standing 522 feet high, with 42 stories, the Smith Tower was the tallest building in the world outside Manhattan when it opened on July 4, 1914. Built by Cornelius Smith – a gun and typewriter tycoon whose initials still adorn the door handles – it was one of several box-like shape buildings being constructed at the time.
Safeco Field
I spent many nights in the summer at Dodgers stadium... here the Mariner's have Safeco Field to play their baseball home games. When I arrived they use to play in the Kingdome, which was taken down and Safeco Field was built. It was strange seeing a baseball came in a "dome"... no grass, no night evenings... very strange. The Safeco Field is built so it is outside but the cover can close if there is rain.Qwest Field
Next door to the north of Safeco Field is Qwest Field where the Seahawks make their home/ nest.
Riley is ready for school and wants to show you his new...
Book bag
I promised that I would show you by putting the picture on the post. He will love to see this.
Have a good day... HUGS

Hi Danna! Enjoyed your photos. I was telling Jeff about a song we sang in school about popcorn popping in the popcorn tree- those white bloosoms look like that. :) It's nice to see spring and everything getting green and starting to blossom. Riley looks very proud of his new book bag! :) Have a lovely Easter weekend! (((Hugz)))
