Make Up Birthday Day for Brady

As you know, Friday night, which was on Brady's 3rd birthday, we were going to have a dinner and open birthday gifts. Well, Dave cut his finger when he was opening Brady's gift with a pocket knife. So we postponed any celebration until this early evening. Today, when Kari was home she baked a cake for Brady and decorated it. When we got home, we sang happy birthday to him and had some birthday cake. She put a candle with a number 3 on top to light. He did know what to think of us making a big deal over him singing Happy Birthday to You...
You can see in the picture that he is a blanket carrying kid. (He is like Linus from Peanuts.)
Finally, he got into it and remembered that one is suppose to blow out the candle on the cake. We sang it three times and let him blow the candle out three times just so he could get use to the idea.

Both the kids like the Spiderman trike. They both helped me put it together while Aaron and Dave were at the hospital getting Dave's finger sewed up.

When the boys go outside, they play on a deck or patio, which you can see in the pictures above. It is covered so they can even go out there when it is raining. Washingtonian kids are use to playing under cover when it is raining outside. I was surprised by this idea coming from CA but it seems that rain doesn't seem to do any harm. Of course, the rain that CA has been having in the past month, kids could float away.

When I was a school bus driver in CA while going to college, once I opened the bus door in one of those rains and the water came into the stair well. Needless to say, I closed it really quickly and drove on to get out of there. At that time I lived in the Inland Empire in the city of Ontario.

Anyway, back from memory lane... I also bought a little toy train for Riley so that he didn't feel left out however Brady took it over... so the two of them have been playing trains for the last two days all over the living room.

Another week is about to begin so I have to get off the computer and get every thing ready for tomorrow. Hope everyone has a great Monday. Hugs

Glad you were finally able to celebrate. My daughter, Jessica, brought her blankee with her to UCSD. ;) Have a good week ahead! (((Hugz)))

Hi Danna, Poor Dave, I can relate. I fell and landed on my hand and maybe have a hairline fracture. My son Daniel is 24 and still has his blankie. In fact, we all do that keep us warm this extra cold winter! I was just in Ontario a few weeks ago as it is about 25 minutes down the 15 fwy. Happy Birthday to Brady.

Looks like once Brady got into it, he had a good time. Glad you could still have a special time for him.
